The Affenpinscher is a toy dog breed, usually weighing in at between 7 and 10 pounds.

Affectionately known as the �monkey terrier�, it has a comical face a bit like a monkey. The "monkey terrier" is very popular as a house pet. It�s big black eyes show off it�s intelligent and affectionate nature. But make no mistake about it, this dog is very playful. They are active and curious, but also very stubborn. It is the stubbornness that some say makes them difficult to train in spite of their intelligence.

This breed tends to be very defensive of it's family members and territorial about their toys and food. They show no fear in spite of their size. Yet overall, they tend to be relatively quiet.

Much like the Miniature Pinscher that this site is devoted to, this is a great dog for a family that likes a pet with a sense of humor and one that can put on a show.
